Houston Shower

Last weekend, Chris and I drove out to Houston to visit my family. We were also there for a couple of special occasions. Amanda had her baby shower on Saturday and mine was on Sunday. We both had a great time at our showers and received a lot of really great and useful gifts.

My Aunt Dana and Aunt Whitney were hostesses at the shower. They worked very hard getting the house ready and preparing all the food. Everything was delicious. The decorations were very cute and included a table of pictures when Chris and I were babies and a really cute topiary made out of baby socks and wash cloths.

It was a lot of fun to see all my family and friends for a few hours and share in this special time. It was also a nice treat to get to see Amanda two days in a row. It's been very exciting for us to go through this pregnancy thing together but it is sad that we don't get to see each other as often as we would both like. Once the boys get here we hope to be able to travel soon and see each other. Heather and Brooke also join us.

I received some great gifts that Kase is going to love. We received everything from clothes to baby monitors to a stroller and of course diapers. We have just about everything that we need now and more to welcome this little rug rat into the world!

Since I was unable to post all the pictures... I have included a link to my picture site to check out more if you would like!

Oh Baby!

Well the count down continues! We just finished week 30 and are in the middle of week 31... which means that there is a little less the 9 weeks till we meet our little guy. We have crossed over to the single digit numbers! Scary! Exciting! Crazy! It seems like just yesterday that it was 4th of July when we found out that we were expecting. Time flies when we are having fun.
I am getting bigger by the second. We are to the point where when he turns over my whole belly moves. Little arms, legs and elbows poke out frequently. Today I learned something about Kase. He is ticklish on his feet but likes his head rubbed. Today I was sitting at my desk at work and he was moving around. A little foot poked out of my right side so I reached over and rubbed it... he quickly tucked it back in. On the opposite side there was a larger bump sticking out (his head) so I rubbed that. He then pressed harder in my hand like it felt good. I thought it was rather cute! So we will see if that continues in March with the ticklish feet. It doesn't surprise me much because I have very ticklish feet and I love it when some one rubs my head. So like mother like son?

I have posted a couple of pictures of me and Chris when we were babies. I was going through pictures like my aunt requested for the shower and got to thinking that we were pretty cute babies so I'm hoping Kase will be a cute baby too. I can't wait to see what parts of me and what parts of Chris he gets.

The outdoor Kitchen

I know its been a while since I've given you an update on the outdoor kitchen.... It's almost done! The counter tops were installed just the other day and tomorrow they are going to come out and finish sealing them. Kudos to Chris for doing all the work himself. I'm looking forward to having a party out there when the weather warms up a bit to show it off! I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Cordblood Banking

Chris and I made the decision to do cord blood banking today. After much research and thinking we decided to go with Viacord. I was very impressed with their customer service. The people all were very nice and spent as much time with me as I needed. I didn't feel like I was being rushed off the phone. We decided to go with a Private bank for many reasons. Number one is that we have a bank with genetically matched stem cells that if heaven forbid one of our family gets sick we will be able to use these banked cells to cure what ever diseases may come our way. There has been great success with curing leukemia and other forms of cancer with these type of Stem Cells. I hope like heck we never have to use this and that the money we spent will go to waist. This at least gives me the piece of mind that I've done everything possible to protect my little guy against the worst case scenario.
